Great textbook, esp if you can get the videos

This was one of my favorite textbooks in my MBA program. It is well written and organized, and the case studies are interesting. Our teacher also had videos of (usually) the central person of the case study who was interviewed by one of Kenneth Merchant's classes. It was fascinating to hear what had happened afterwards and to see the central person "in the flesh."

A terrific book which covers an important subject

This should be required reading for all managers. A terrific book which covers an important subject, how to create the right control and evaluation system in your organization. The writing is clear and engaging, an easy read. It is a comprehensive coverage, even has a chapter on control systems in not-for-profits. The book also includes numerous detailed cases.

This is required reading for one of my MSA courses. It is very well written and easy to read. The cases, while dated, are still pertinent and thought provoking.
