About the Author
A young beauty queen raised in small town of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, Dayanara Torres was named Miss Universe in 1993. After winning the crown, she internationally acted in movies and TV shows, and released the album "Antifaz," which reached the top of the Billboard charts in Latin America and the Phillipines. In 2000, she married singer Marc Anthony; the couple divorced in 2004. She currently lives in Los Angeles with her two sons, Cristian and Ryan, and is involved in a whirlwind of lucrative projects in acting, modeling, endorsements, and commercials.

I could not put it down! We as women have struggles but to for Dyanara to write about it was great .. I was happy to read that she had so much support and love from her family.

Not just for divorced women

Dayanara is a friend of mine and if I hated this book there would have been no review.
If you're looking for a tell all about Dayanara's marriage to Marc Anthony this book will be a disappointment. If you're looking for a "tell-something" you are in luck.
I don't know how but at a remarkably young age the sisters Torres (Jinny is the co-author) have found their voices. Although it appears to be geared to the divorced or divorcing woman, Married To Me is a wonderful guide for married women too.
There is more than one gentle reminder that our children are only half "ours". Married, divorced, single or looking Dayanara and Jeannette are women worth listening to. By honoring our children's fathers we honor our children.
Do not miss the chapter on Rebuilding. A smart woman begins every day fresh.
It's a charming and uplifting book with small glimpses into a very exciting life led by two insightful and glamorous women (who are surprisingly just like us).

THE Girlfriend's Guide through Divorce and Beyond

I was not expecting such a well-written book. I am recently divorced and was heartbroken and looking for a book to help me with my healing. I have received professional counseling, but this book was EXACTLY what my heart and soul needed- from insightful girlfriends who really seem to care about their sisters out there. This is really a "how to" guide on surviving divorce in a positive manner while dealing with the tough feelings that often accompany this tumultuous life change (especially if you have children.) Thank you, Yari and Ginny... your book really should be on a bestseller list, in my opinion. Thank you for showing me that we can become BETTER women, mothers, friends and spouses after divorce.
